Project Axiom
A student form and CMF study for a recovery device, expressed through a sculptural FDM appearance model.
Brief概要
Can a muscle relief device feel like part of a high-end interior instead of equipment waiting to be hidden?
This study reinterprets the massage-gun typology as a continuous sculptural composition for spa and gym interiors. The appearance model explores the silhouette, hand opening, surface transitions, and docked resting state. A dedicated dock concept makes storage part of the visual composition.
Form Language形态语言
The grip, working head, and vertical fin were composed to read as one continuous sculpture.
The CMF drawing established the contrast between satin-black surfaces and thin gold transitions. The physical model then tested whether those lines could preserve the same visual continuity across separate printed parts.
Docked Resolution停放状态
The base gives the device a deliberate resting state instead of leaving it loose on a counter.
Plan, elevation, and section views set the overall 254 mm width and 216 mm height. The recessed dock locates the device while the broad circular base stabilizes the composition visually.
Grip & Finish握持与表面
The hand passes through the form rather than attaching to a separate handle.
PLA Metal filament gives the appearance prototype a restrained reflective surface. Thin gold accents mark structural transitions and suggest metallic inlays for a future production direction.
